Familiar names & faces in Step by Step Wire

by Jeanette on July 8, 2009

My issue of Step by Step Wire finally arrived! Receiving it was questionable because I never received the Spring issue even though my subscritpion goes until summer of 2010. I really enjoyed this issue because not only did it include many cool tutorials, but it was great to see so many familiar names and faces throughout the publication.picture-43 My dear friend, Cindy Wimmer with Sweat Bead Studio is featured on page 22-her concerto necklace. Coils, spirals and lampwork beads-simply elegant. Don’t you think?cindynecklace

Another tutorial that I fell in love with was Faith Oriold’s “beach treasures bracelet,”  which is fearured on page 25. I purchased some cool boro beads a few days ago and I am going to use them in this tutorial…just waiting for my wire order to arrive…..can’t wait.beachtreasures1 I also enjoyed Kerry Bogert’s “lickety split” rings tutorial which is featured on page 32.  Kerry makes amazing lampwork beads..I especially love the colors she uses in her lampwork-fun, bright colors. I read on her blog that she is taking custom orders for the beads she used in the ring tutorial. She usually doesn’t take custom orders, but she is making an exception this time. Please visit her blog for details if you are intersted in purchasing her lampwork beads to make these cool rings. kabs1

Hmmm, what else. Jodi Bombardier has a cute bracelet tutorial using wire and leather. Sally Stevens features her own twist to the bird’s nest pendant. Some really cool spiral backless earrings by Char Jorgensen and much more. It was a fun issue.
