The soups on!

by Jeanette on February 10, 2010

It was so much fun participating in the Bead Soup Party exchange hosted by Lori Anderson.

beadsoupThanks for all your hard work, Lori. With 80 participants, this was quite the undertaking! We are having a huge storm here in the DC area, so I may be losing power (again). Because of this I may not be able to visit everyone’s blog today and see their wonderful creations. Though, I will be making my rounds as soon as I can!

My Bead Soup Partner was Rickie Voges with Uptown Girl Designs. Rickie and I didn’t know eachother before Bead Soup, but after we were paired together, I visited her blog and noticed right away with both share the love of working with lampwork beads. I received a lovely set of boro beads, my favorite type of lampwork beads right now, and I pulled out my bronze wire, sheet metal and created a bracelet. The clasp, which was silver, I wrapped with bronze wire so that it all blended together. Thanks so much, Rickie. I have been wearing the bracelet all the time since making it, just love the combo of those beautiful boro beads and wire. Have fun everyone! Below is a list of all participants..!

I love the clasp. The mix of metalwork, wire and glass play so wondefully together. I love the small touches like the bead caps and the metal charm.

That’s absolutely gorgeous… trying to learn wire wrapping… that bracelet makes me want to work at it harder! Glad that snow is in your yard not mine… we got it last winter… I lost my front door and my car for 6 weeks under snow drifts…

Jen February 10, 2010 at 9:38 am

Mary K mcgraw February 10, 2010 at 10:04 am

Kate February 11, 2010 at 6:01 am

HI Janette, my place looks like yours right now! We got another 18 + inches, it was so bad they even closed the malls (all except Macy’s) and where I live that NEVER happens! After all this white I need to get into the studio and play with color! You sure did a great job on your piece, I adore it, especially the very intricate intriging wire work, it sure grabbed my attention! Have fun wearing it and Enjoy the Party!
