There has been this huge pesty fly in my studio for several days…and I mean pesty! As it buzzes around my room and into my light-fixtures, it makes this very loud buzzing sound. This is annoying enough! But this fly is not shy and enjoys diving for my head and into my hair..no kidding!! I have to shake my head and flip my hair around to get him out of my hair. You may be asking yourself why doesn’t she just grab a rolled-up newspaper and give it a whack, and my problem would be taken care of? But it’s so big! Finally after several days of putting up with this fly (what is the life expectancy of a fly)! I had my husband come down and get rid of it. I returned to my studio, relieved, enjoying the silence and no buzzing sound…. until 10 minutes later brother or sister fly is buzzing around my studio. Again, this is a big juicy fly! How are these flies getting in to my home?!! I caught myself being tempted to use my ignited torch and torch it as if flew by, but that would be gross! So, it’s still down there but “despite the juicy fly” I finally completed my enameled cuffed bracelet. This took me a while to make..and I had to be really careful with the riveting, not wanting to crack the glass.
Well, I better head back down to my studio and clean up my enamels…that gosh darn fly will be there, I am going to need my husband’s help again……

Gorgeous bracelet!
For the fly problem, spray it with a lot of sticky hair spray as it flies close by. It should fall to the floor and you can pick it up with a paper towel.
Just don’t light a torch any time soon after that. Hair Spray is flammable!
Beautiful – love the colors!
Jeanette…that is so gorgeous! Can you share how you riveted it?
Lovely enamelling and colour combination.
I love the bracelet and the colors…very nice!
The torture of the flies…they drive me nuts in my studio too…I keep my vacumn out so I can suck them up!
Beautiful bracelet, the colors are “juicy”!
You are not going to believe this, but I had a fly buzzing around my head while on the torch today. Kept landing on my arm, hair, and close to the torch. Arggg. Almost got the little sucker a couple of times.
Love the bracelet.
Occasionally I also have insect problems, but my work area is out in the garage. I have fly tape…it doesn’t look pretty but it does the job. Lovely bracelet, love the colors!
Thanks, Shelby. This fly thing is new this year. Driving me crazy! Hey, congrats, I saw your tutorial in Step by Step Wire. Very nice!
You are kidding, how funny!
Hey Sharon, your comment made me chuckle:)
Thanks, Judy and congrats to you! Saw your tutorial in Step by Step Wire..I remember that bracelet..so glad you shared with everyone how to make it.
Thanks, Sylvia!
Thanks, Elisabeth!
I am glad you didn’t forget to mention the second part, not to use the torch anytime soon!:)
Gorgeous bracelet, Jeanette! Love the colours and the rivet is so special! Did you set the stone after riveting?
I feel your “pain” about the fly – I don’t know why, they really bother me. Now that the weather is so warm, they want to get into my cool house, so I can’t leave the door of the studio open… Those big ones are specially irksome.
Jeanette…I really love the colors in this bracelet! Soooo very pretty and wearable! As for the fly…. that’s a tough one but I’m a softie and would never torch one. Or the fly tape…never heard of that but that’s really gross. What a bummer!
Love, .love that bracelet.
Beautiful! You did a great job! I love the color:)
Hey Jeanette,
It must be the year of the fly. I’ve had them in my house. I thought it was a regional problem since I just moved here, but it sounds more like a wire and metal problem…they must like jewelry. I don’t feel sorry at all for any bug the journey’s into my home. After all they have the entire outside. I swacked one with a roll of paper towels. In the process my thumb tip slammed into the wall – not pleasant. Next the the pain on my thoughts was how was I going to use the plyers.
The bracelet is awsome! I love it. I can’t wait to get my studio unpacked. It’s time I bought some Map gas.
Gorgoeus – love the colors!
