Summer fun close to home

by Jeanette on June 30, 2009

We stayed home most the day today, though it was still full of fun.

In the morning, I pulled out the croquet set and thought I would teach the kids how to play.  I set up all the wickets and the game begun.  The mallets were adult size, so it was cumbersome for them to hold the mallet and try to hit the ball, nevermind getting the ball through the wickets.  Fifteen minutes into the game I decided to throw all the game rules out the window and just let them have fun hitting the balls where-ever.

After about 40 minutes of this, the kids were getting hot and cranky, so I called out, “popsicle break” which is always a mood lifter.

Soon after I had the kids change into their bathing suits for some fun outdoor water play. Refreshing and always a good time!

All and all, it was a pretty good day. I managed to make a stamped “PEACE” necklace. I punched out 18 gauge copper dics and stamped them with 3/8 inch character size alphabet stamps and attached to oxidized copper chain. I really like the larger size fonts and stamping them on individual discs to spell out a word. It’s very eye catching! Have a great evening.

Jeanette, your kids are so cute. And, I love your peace necklace. It reminds me of my *formative* years. :) Your stamping expertise is so good that it looks like you engraved it!
